The Human
You can be limited and think with your brain, or you can be integrated and think with every cell in your body.
We are done with tools. We are the ultimate weapon—our bodies—firing as integrated systems, and AI takes us each, individually, to the next level. So we are done with tools outside of this because they are too menial, too one-dimensional.
I've met people skilled enough to ace dynamic programming questions in big tech interviews ... masterful algorithm-writers in the most general and academic of senses ... and they just don't have it in them to be self-sufficient with software. To be left to their own devices, literally and figuratively. Their host is the Company, and they remain professionally successful and employable for life. And that's ok. But what I'm moved by is the Human.
The Human is accustomed to the icy-dry winter, but also to the hot-humid tropical savanna. The things he’d do for free happen to be the things that build his livelihood. He doesn’t feel the pressure. He sees the pressure, and he is neither a thinker nor a doer. He lives where he wants, in a place that kindles his nature.
I know a woman who is not a Michelin-star chef but knows how to pair a sauce with a dish to make the gut sing.
There is something I call the 'X factor'. I can't quite pin down a specific talent on some people. They are far from the child prodigy type, the opposite even. But they—when it's show time—show up with an un-categorizable aura. They have all their bases covered. The technical skill is also there, mind you, but it isn't the overarching force. That force is something far more intangible, far less pinpoint-able, and ultimately this is what carries them to the finish line.
And I have a hunch that this is the universe's intended way to conduct a life ... and ultimately fulfill one's destiny. Why do I feel this way? Simply because it feels correct. It is indeed a hypothesis, but I'll say this. That some hypotheses have to be correct at all costs creates ripples in the fabric of reality that are either clarifying or disillusioning depending on the person and pursuit. I'll go all in on my hunch and let reality answer.
