For the ideas I keep returning to

Ideas are a dime a dozen; they come and ago, but there are a handful that are so potent they move me forever. And it's those very ideas that also happen to be connected in a roundabout fashion, ideas I keep returning to. Of course.

Turning each idea into an island, I built PerillaCove to join those islands into a world that approaches total clarity and completeness. This is my top priority.

Best of all worlds

I appreciate life too much to be boxed into a niche of any kind. At the purest level, I've come to find there are no full-blown trade-offs. No, the best of this and the best of that can co-exist, yes, but also feed off and reinforce one another.

The most delicious foods are also what is best for my body. My work is play; writing, going for an exploratory stroll, and building software are some of the most riveting games to me.

I see that different worlds, even so-called opposites, are folded into one another; the balance is already baked in. At the truest forms, motion carries rest, nourishment carries lightness, and vice versa, and so on. Nature builds while it clears, and it clears while it builds. Think about a food that nourishes yet lightens, grounds yet lifts, and effortlessly hydrates. What I call integrated gastronomy.

Today’s meal is the tastiest thing I've eaten all week and it’s also what my body was asking for. Why put up with any less? My play sharpens my craft. My craft funds my life. My life deepens my play.

I can count on one hand those who truly live like this, live Whole, but of the few I see, they tend to float through life. This is the kind of freedom I'm after.

I'm not in the business of making grand plans or predicting the future. I don't have time for anything other than heartbeat-of-the-moment necessity, and PerillaCove is my vessel for my research, exploration, and experiments as it pertains to this.

The Cove

Inelegance cannot stand the test of time. I feel that everything true and real must somehow fit because it can't be any other way.

Humans, on the flip side, have become accustomed to fake structures, like school and mortgages, that are uninspiring, fragmented from the core, and founded not on nature.

Nature is my blueprint.

The Cove below is one such instantiation of nature. It is a conceptual goldilocks zone where seemingly-distinct zones coalesce and create the conditions for a wide variety of plants, animals, and humans to survive and thrive.

Enter

Step into the Cove and see that durian catches the strongest light and softens what passes through for understory cacao that turns that light into pods and leaf fall. Cows harness the surplus growth and return its nutrients, concentrated, where roots are waiting. Waste approaches zero.

There is a total harnessing in nature, yet in flux; it’s what I call a flawless turnover, where, integration is immanent. And within the integration are connections so forged in fire that the additions required to further complete the system become vanishingly small. Everything just fits ... and gets richer, yet lighter, over time.

My arena

PerillaCove is the first thing I’ve built for myself that I enjoy using more than any alternative. Actually there is no alternative. And I've got many ideas in an island of mine called 'Vault' that I'm excited to soon integrate.

Nothing orients my mind like crafting, connecting, and refining PerillaCove islands. It's vital to me that I spend my days deeply immersed in things of my choosing.

Lastly, this being my arena, it's not enough that it 'just works'. I think design is everything. But so is architecture. And flow, structure, taste, integration, quality, and inspiration. I find myself employing a multitude of apparently-unrelated passions and skills into building this. Every journey is a tributary, it seems.
